The next restaurant I want to share with you is one we all know and love, Liberty Steakhouse and Brew Pub. I know every student, and even faculty, know and have been to Liberty. It is such a big part of the community of this school. Seniors take pride in the fact that we go there an absurd amount of times each week, and freshman aspire to have that ability when they get to be our age. As a senior I feel that it is my duty to all of my readers to share the "Liberty Secrets" my friends are I have discovered over our years.
First item on my to-do's is where to sit. Liberty has two different sections of seating, the dining room and the bar area. If your going to have a dinner with your family, please bring them to the dining room because if you don't, you will run into the seniors and or juniors (like myself) that are up to no good in the bar area. Remember, we go there to socialize, you don't want to bring your family around that - trust me haha! As for juniors and seniors, GO TO THE BAR! Not only is it seat yourself, but 99.99% of the time your going to run into someone that you know there, could be a good and bad thing. Another benefit of sitting in the bar is having the ability to seat up to 14 friends at one table. Trust me its important especially when your in a sorority or fraternity and trying to go out with an absurd amount of people. The waiters and waitresses are incredible, they just grin and bare it when it comes to serving large groups and even splitting the check! That is hard to find at restaurants now a days so I know that was something that we find especially important when picking a communal "watering hole".
When it comes to beer, Liberty is what some call a pro. The beer that they sell on draft is all their own. Whens sitting in the bar you can see the room in which they brew this beer, and that makes it all the more exciting. Don't be afraid to ask for as many samples of the beers as you want because they are "FO FREE!" (please excuse that outburst). My recommendation is a "Liberty Secret", called a half and half, which is a mix between Deep River and Blackberry Wheat. Sounds odd, tastes amazing!
ps- They also have drink specials every day of the week! So even if you aren't a beer drinker you have another outlet!
The food at Liberty resembles something that the gods themselves created. They have incredible appetizers, burgers, sandwiches, soups, salads, and various entree plates. Now lets get on the topic what to order. If you are with your family, I suggest getting an actual meal, such as the Mug Club sandwich or, if your like a select few of my friends, the rack of ribs. Now if your with a bunch of your friends, get the appetizers! Although they don't split the cost of the apps, i'm such you and your friends can figure it out, because its worth it! The appetizers to get are the Bonfire Shrimp, Texas Cheese Fries, Soft Pretzels, and THE CHILI! All of which are amazing, so get them all if possible!
In conclusion, GO TO LIBERTY, its amazing and definitely worth your time!!
This just made me so hungry, because I love Liberty and have never disliked anything I've had there. The food is amazing like you said, you probably can't go wrong with anything on their menu. If I had to recommend a beer, they have a dark beer that tastes like coffee, I think it is seasonal and called espresso something, but it tastes like coffee (for the coffee lover out there)! And don't get me started on their buffalo wings, delish!!! Great post, oldie but goodie. Can't go wrong at Liberty!
ReplyDeleteLoved reading this Mack! Liberty is amazing here at High Point. It definitely is a must have experience a lot especially as a senior! It's kind sad to think that this time next year we weren't just be able to go to liberty on a week night. Not only are their beers amazing but as well as the food! I love love the fried pickles my favorite ever and the blackberry wheat is the perfect combo. I definitely agree with the bar and dining room scenarios. Dinner with family definitely dining room, Dinner with friends and socializing definitely the bar side. You always run into other students and have a great time! Thanks for sharing how much you love Liberty, we all do!
ReplyDeleteLiberty really is a great and convenient restaurant for all HPU students. It is the first restaurant people recommended I to go to when I visited campus as a high school student, because everyone goes to Liberty.I like that it is a casual restaurant, so you can go in whatever state you want, but still get great food. It is common for girls on the soccer team to take their parents to eat there after a home game. I agree with Rachel, this article made me hungry. The ribs and chili are some of my favorites on the menu too, so I may have to go get some tonight.
ReplyDelete#retweet to this post, Mack! My mouth was watering the entire time I was reading it, daydreaming about being at Lib. I think you're right about freshman longing to be able to be of age, and not only enjoy Liberty's food, but their great beers and special drinks! We both know far too well how addicting the restaurant can be, but it seems as if we have simply accepted the fact that we are officially addicted and committed. Let's go get some chili and beer after this weekend! XO
ReplyDeleteI think Liberty is such a plus to have so close to campus. No matter if you go with family (and sit in the dining area) or with friends (and sit in the bar area) you always have a good time. This is definitely a place that if you attend HPU you must and most likely will attend multiple times during your years here. The food and drinks are amazing and well worth the visit. Your post was great and the energy you get reading it makes you want to drop everything and head over there right now. I can't wait to see what else you post about!
